The winning entry will be used on the LIFELANGS website and in all of our promotional materials. The new logo will be used to promote the events organised by the project and in our publications.
Design Brief
We are looking for a creative, original logo that represents the themes of shared languages and identities on the island of Ireland, designed to represent our new Living Observatory. The logo can be hand-made in any material or digital. It should work well in both colour as well as black and white. It should work well in both large and small sizes. It should not contain any text. You cannot use someone else’s work.
Contest Details & Conditions
- Who can enter? The competition is open to any young person aged under 18 residing in the Republic of Ireland and in Northern Ireland.
- Format: Submit your entry as a JPEG, PNG, PDF or GIF file in a square format (1:1). Hand-made designs should be scanned or photographed clearly. Original digital and hand-drawn or painted designs only.
- Deadline: 12 noon, Tuesday 25 November 2025. Late entries cannot be accepted.
- Prizes:
- The winning entry will receive a framed copy of their art work and a hoodie which depicts the logo.
- Runners up will receive a certificate of honourable mention.
- All entries will receive a certificate of participation, by email.
- Permissions:
- By entering this competition, you certify that the logo does not infringe the rights of any third party and is not in violation of any copyright.
- By entering this competition, you are representing to us that your parents/guardians have consented to your entry and to our conditions, which they have read. Proof of age and identity may be required.
A panel of judges including two independent members and two LIFELANGS team members, drawn from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, will select the winning design based on the criteria of creativity, relevance to the design brief, and visual impact. The decision of the panel will be final.
How to Enter
- You should send your entry to info@lifelangs.com from your parent or guardian’s email address.
- Each email entry should clearly state your full name and age, and your county of residence. No home addresses or personal telephone numbers should be included.
- Submit your entry as a JPEG, PNG, PDF or GIF file in a square format (1:1). Hand-made designs should be scanned or photographed clearly. Original digital and hand-drawn or painted designs only.
Use of the Logo
- The winning entry will become the sole property of the LIFELANGS project for use at its direction.
- By submitting an entry, applicants accept all logo contest guidelines and agree to be bound by them.
- By entering the contest, individuals are granting permission for the submitted designs to be used for promotional purposes in the LIFELANGS project. The winning logo will be worked on by a designer and adapted for use in digital and printed materials.
- The name of the winning designer will be featured on the project’s website, if permission is granted.
